Why I Decided to Lower My Prices and Keep the 25% New Client Discount
I have been thinking about my pricing for a long time, especially the 25% OFF offer for first-time new clients. After thinking carefully about my business, my customers, and what feels right to me, I decided to follow my heart and make a change.
When I first created my mobile grooming prices, my starting price was around $125. I realized that this may have felt like too big of a jump for some new clients who were interested in trying my mobile grooming service for the first time. Even with a discount, some people may still have felt unsure about booking.
That is why I decided to lower my regular starting price to $70, depending on the dog’s weight, while continuing to offer 25% OFF for first-time new clients.
My goal right now is to give more local dog owners an opportunity to try Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming, meet me, experience my service, and see how convenient one-on-one mobile grooming can be.
I believe starting with more affordable prices is the right decision for my business at this time. I am still learning how everything works, understanding my daily expenses, managing my mobile grooming van, scheduling clients, using my water and supplies, and learning what works best for both my customers and my business.
As my business continues to grow in the future, my prices may increase or additional charges may be added for certain extra services, additional work, or improvements. I want those future changes to happen naturally as I gain more experience and better understand the true costs of operating my business.
Right now, my biggest goal is simply to meet new clients, build trust, receive referrals, and grow Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming step by step.
It has been almost two months, and I am still working hard to find new clients and referrals. Building a new business takes time, and I understand that. I believe that lowering my prices will make it easier for more people to give my service a try.
I am very excited about what is coming next. I cannot wait to meet new clients, meet their dogs, and continue building relationships throughout Western Connecticut.
