FAQ- Can I ask for a lower price or discount?
Q: Can I ask for a lower price or discount?
A: I understand that everyone has a budget, but I am unable to negotiate or reduce my grooming prices. My service includes professional grooming equipment, mobile grooming supplies, fuel, travel expenses, maintenance, insurance, and the convenience of coming directly to your home.
Mobile grooming saves you time and eliminates the need to drive to a salon,
wait for appointments, or make multiple trips.
My pricing reflects the quality, convenience, and professional service provided. If my pricing does not fit your budget, I completely understand, but I cannot lower my rates or negotiate service fees.
Thank you for respecting my business and pricing structure.

FAQ- Dog Treats During Grooming
Q: Can I provide treats for my dog during grooming?
A: Yes! If your dog is allowed to have treats and does not have any food allergies, you are welcome to provide your dog’s favorite treats for the grooming appointment.
Treats can help reward good behavior, build trust, and create a more positive grooming experience. Many dogs become more comfortable and cooperative when they receive praise and rewards during grooming.
Please let me know about any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical conditions before the appointment. For your dog’s safety, I will only use treats approved by the owner.
I love dogs and enjoy helping them feel comfortable, safe, and happy during their grooming experience. Friendly and cooperative dogs often become more familiar with me over time as we build trust together.

Patience, kindness, and positive reinforcement help create a stress-free grooming experience.
FAQ- Forgotten Dog Belongings
Q: What if I accidentally leave my dog’s leash, collar, harness, or other belongings in your mobile grooming van?
A: No problem! If I find any forgotten items, such as a leash, collar, harness, blanket, toy, or other belongings, I will keep them safe and contact you as soon as possible.
If we already have another grooming appointment scheduled, I can return the item during your next visit. Please feel free to send me a text message if you realize something was left behind.
I will do my best to remind customers about their belongings before the appointment is finished, but sometimes items may be accidentally forgotten.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

FAQ- Do You Clean Dogs’ Teeth?
Q: Do you provide teeth cleaning services?
A: No. Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming does not provide dental cleaning services.
Professional dental cleanings should be performed by
a licensed veterinarian. Veterinary dental care may include oral examinations, dental scaling, X-rays, treatment of dental disease, and other medical procedures that are outside the scope of grooming services.
We may observe and inform you of visible concerns such as bad breath, excessive tartar buildup, bleeding gums, loose teeth, or other signs of dental issues. However, diagnosis and treatment are the responsibility of your veterinarian.
For your dog’s dental health and safety, we recommend scheduling regular veterinary dental checkups and cleanings.
FAQ- Do You Groom Very Young Puppies?
Q: Do you groom puppies under 8 weeks old?
A: No. For the safety and well-being of the puppy, Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming does not accept puppies under 8 weeks of age.
Young puppies are still developing physically and emotionally and may be more sensitive to stress, grooming equipment, handling, temperature changes, and the grooming environment.
Our Puppy Age Policy
* Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old for their first grooming appointment.
* Puppies should be healthy and able to safely tolerate bathing, drying, brushing, and handling.
* We reserve the right to postpone or decline service if a puppy appears too young, too small, medically fragile, excessively fearful, or unable to safely participate in grooming.
First Puppy Grooming Visit
A puppy’s first appointment is designed to be a gentle and positive introduction to grooming and may include:
* Warm bath
* Gentle blow-dry
* Light brushing
* Face, feet, and sanitary trim (if appropriate)
* Nail trimming (if tolerated)
* Positive handling and socialization
Safety First
Our goal is to help puppies develop positive grooming experiences from the beginning. If a puppy becomes overly stressed, frightened, or unsafe to groom, the appointment may be shortened or stopped for the puppy’s welfare.
Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming places the health, safety, and comfort of every puppy above completing the groom.

FAQ – Do You Groom Dogs Over 12 Years Old?
Q: Do you groom dogs over 12 years old?
A: Yes, but dogs over 12 years of age are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
As dogs age, they may develop health conditions, mobility limitations, hearing or vision loss, arthritis, anxiety, heart conditions, or other concerns that can affect their ability to safely tolerate grooming.
Senior Dog Evaluation
Before accepting or continuing grooming services for dogs over 12 years old, we may consider:
* Overall health and medical history
* Mobility and ability to stand comfortably
* Stress and anxiety levels
* Grooming behavior and cooperation
* Recommendations from your veterinarian
Veterinary Clearance
In some situations, we may request veterinary approval before scheduling or continuing grooming services.
Service Modifications
To help keep senior dogs comfortable, we may:
* Schedule shorter appointments
* Take additional breaks
* Modify grooming procedures
* Stop the appointment if the dog becomes overly stressed or medically compromised
Safety Policy
Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming reserves the right to decline, postpone, shorten, or discontinue grooming services if we believe grooming may place a senior dog at risk.
The health, comfort, and safety of your dog will always come before completing the groom.

A: Please make sure your gate is unlocked before your scheduled appointment. I am Deaf and cannot hear doorbells, intercoms, voice machines, phone calls, or people calling from inside the home.

To help ensure a smooth appointment:

FAQ- Parking Instructions & Property Respect
Q: Where should the mobile grooming van park?
A: Please text me before your appointment and let me know exactly where you would like my mobile grooming van to park on your property. I respect your property rights and want to make sure you are comfortable with the parking location.
To avoid misunderstandings, please provide clear parking instructions before I arrive. If there are special parking rules, narrow driveways, gates, HOA requirements, or areas you do not want me to use, please let me know in advance by text message.
I am happy to follow your directions. Once I become familiar with your preferred parking location, future appointments will usually be smooth and easy.
If a customer repeatedly refuses to provide parking instructions, creates ongoing parking disputes, or is unwilling to cooperate regarding safe and appropriate parking arrangements, Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming reserves the right to discontinue services.
My goal is to provide excellent service while respecting your home, property, and neighborhood. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
FAQ- Weather Cancellations & Rescheduling
Q: What happens if bad weather affects my appointment?
A: Your safety, your pet’s safety, and my safety are very important. If severe or unexpected weather conditions occur, Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming reserves the right to cancel or postpone appointments due to safety concerns.
Examples may include:
* Heavy rain
* Snow or ice
* Thunderstorms
* High winds
* Flooding
* Dangerous road conditions
* Other unexpected weather emergencies
If I need to cancel your scheduled appointment because of weather conditions, there will be no cancellation fee.
Please understand that weather-related cancellations are made for safety reasons and are part of my business policy. By booking an appointment, you agree that weather conditions may require changes to the schedule.
Rescheduling may be challenging during busy periods because appointments can be fully booked. However, please do not worry. I will do my best to find the next available appointment that works for both of us.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and cooperation. I appreciate your support and will work hard to get your pet back on the schedule as soon as possible.
FAQ- Pet Health Emergencies
Q: What if my dog experiences a medical emergency during grooming?
A: Grooming can be stressful for some pets, especially senior dogs, pets with known health conditions, puppies, or pets that become anxious during handling.
While Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming takes reasonable precautions to provide a safe grooming experience, grooming cannot eliminate all health risks. In rare cases, a pet may experience a medical emergency, injury, illness, or death due to underlying health conditions, age-related conditions, stress, or other factors beyond the groomer’s control.
If a medical emergency occurs, I may seek veterinary assistance or contact the owner or emergency contact as soon as possible.
By scheduling grooming services, the owner acknowledges these risks and agrees to provide accurate information regarding their pet’s health, medical history, medications, and behavioral concerns.
Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming is not responsible for complications resulting from undisclosed medical conditions, pre-existing health issues, or circumstances beyond the groomer’s reasonable control.
Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming maintains business insurance, including applicable Care, Custody, and Control (CCC) coverage. Any incident or claim will be handled professionally and reviewed based on the specific facts and circumstances of the situation.
FAQ- Groomer Emergency Cancellations
Q: What happens if Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming must cancel due to a personal emergency?
A: While I work hard to keep all scheduled appointments, unexpected emergencies can happen. In rare situations, I may need to cancel or postpone an appointment due to:
* Personal illness or injury
* Medical appointments or urgent health concerns
* Family emergencies
* Vehicle problems
* Banking, legal, or business matters that require immediate attention
* Other unexpected emergencies beyond my control
If I need to cancel or postpone an appointment due to a genuine emergency, there will be no cancellation fee charged to the customer. I will notify you as soon as possible and work with you to find the next available appointment.
I understand that customers may also experience unexpected emergencies involving health, family, work, school, transportation, or other important matters. When reasonable notice is provided, I will do my best to be understanding and work with you on rescheduling.
If you decide that my services are no longer the right fit for your needs, please let me know. I respect your decision and appreciate the opportunity to have served your pet.
For customers who continue using my services, I am committed to providing loyal, professional, and caring grooming for your dogs. I truly love dogs and value every pet entrusted to my care.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and cooperation. My goal is to treat customers fairly and ask for the same fairness in return.
FAQ- Communication Requirements
Q: What if I do not speak English?
A: Clear communication is very important for the safety and care of your pet. As the owner of Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming, I am Deaf and communicate primarily through written English text messages.
At this time, I am not fluent in Spanish or other languages. If we cannot communicate clearly in English through text messages, misunderstandings may occur regarding grooming instructions, health concerns, scheduling, pricing, or safety matters.
For this reason, I may request that a family member, friend, translator, or other representative assist with communication before and during appointments.
If clear communication cannot be established, Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming may decline or discontinue services to help avoid misunderstandings and ensure the best possible care for your pet.
Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and respect.
FAQ- Tipping
Q: Am I required to leave a tip?
A: No. Tipping is always optional and never required.
If you choose to leave a tip, it is greatly appreciated as a way to recognize exceptional service. However, there is absolutely no obligation to provide a tip.
Your business, trust, and continued support mean a great deal to Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming. As long as payment for the grooming service is made as agreed, I am grateful for the opportunity to care for your dog.
Whether you choose to tip or not, every customer and every pet will receive the same professional care, respect, and attention.
Thank you for your support.
FAQ- Do You Accept Checks?
Q: Can I pay by check?
A: Checks are not accepted and are not recommended. Unfortunately, check payments can sometimes result in bank fees, returned checks, payment delays, or other issues.
For a smoother and more reliable payment process, please be prepared to pay by cash, credit card, or debit card before your appointment.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you.
FAQ- Owner Not Home During Appointment
Q: What if I am not home and want you to pick up and return my dog from inside my house?
A: This may be allowed only if the owner provides clear written permission in advance.
Before the appointment, the owner must send a text message or written communication authorizing me to enter the home, retrieve the dog, and return the dog after grooming. The owner should also confirm that the door will be unlocked and that I have permission to enter the property.
For the protection of both the owner and Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming, all permissions must be documented in writing before the appointment. I may keep copies of text messages or written communications as proof of authorization.
If there is no written permission on file, I will not enter the home or remove the dog from the property.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
FAQ- Photos and Videos of Your Dog
Q: May I take photos or videos of my dog during grooming?
A: Before any photos or videos are taken, I will ask for your permission through text message or written communication.
If you do not approve photos or videos of your dog, I will respect your decision. No photos or videos will be taken, and I will make a note in your customer file that you do not authorize photography or video recording.
If you do approve, photos and videos will generally be taken only inside my mobile grooming van. For your privacy and safety, I will avoid showing your home, address, vehicles, family members, or other personal property whenever possible.
Photos and videos may be used on my website, blog, social media pages, advertisements, or other business-related materials to showcase my grooming work and the dogs I have the pleasure of serving.
Please let me know your preference before your appointment so I can document your decision.
Thank you for your cooperation and support of Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming.
FAQ- Haircuts, Styling Requests, and Accidental Injuries
Q: What if my dog’s haircut is not what I expected?
A: Before grooming begins, I will discuss your preferences and make notes about your dog’s haircut style, coat length, shampoo, conditioner, skin sensitivities, medicated products, de-skunk treatments, or any special requests.
Please provide clear instructions and photos if possible. While I will do my best to achieve your desired style, results may vary depending on your dog’s coat condition, matting, behavior, and grooming history.
If I make a significant grooming mistake, I may offer a complimentary correction or other reasonable solution at my discretion.
⸻
Q: What if my dog is accidentally nicked or cut during grooming?
A: Safety is my top priority. However, grooming tools are sharp, and pets may suddenly move during grooming. Even with reasonable care and handling, minor nicks, cuts, clipper irritation, or grooming-related injuries can occasionally occur.
If an accidental injury happens, I will immediately inform you, provide appropriate first aid when possible, and discuss any recommended follow-up care.
I believe in being honest and taking responsibility for my mistakes. If an injury occurs due to my error, I may provide a refund or complimentary service at my discretion.
⸻
Q: Why can grooming accidents happen?
A: Dogs do not always remain still during grooming. Sudden movements, anxiety, age-related conditions, matted coats, skin folds, warts, lumps, or sensitive skin can increase the risk of accidental injury, even when proper care is taken.
I work carefully and patiently to reduce these risks, but no grooming service can guarantee that accidents will never occur.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and well-being are very important to me.
FAQ- Dogs with Cancer or Serious Medical Conditions
Q: Can you groom my dog if they have cancer or another serious medical condition?
A: Yes, but your dog’s health and comfort come first. Please tell me about any medical conditions before the appointment.
If your veterinarian has recommended avoiding a full bath, I can provide limited grooming services such as:
* Brushing and gentle de-matting
* Paw and foot cleaning only
* Nail trimming
* Sanitary trimming if appropriate
* Light coat maintenance for comfort
I will follow your veterinarian’s instructions whenever possible. If your veterinarian recommends a specific shampoo, medicated product, or grooming restriction, please provide that information before the appointment.
I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe shampoos. For dogs undergoing cancer treatment, always consult your veterinarian regarding the safest grooming products and procedures for your pet’s specific condition.
My goal is to keep your dog comfortable, safe, and stress-free while respecting your veterinarian’s recommendations and your wishes as the owner. 🐾
This wording helps protect both you and your mobile grooming business while encouraging owners to work with their veterinarian.
FAQ- Three-Legged Dogs (Tripod Dogs)
Q: Can you groom my dog if they have only three legs or have difficulty walking?
A: Yes. I can groom many three-legged dogs (tripod dogs) and dogs with mobility challenges. Please let me know about your dog’s condition before the appointment.
Your dog’s safety and comfort come first. I may provide extra support during bathing, drying, and grooming, and I may take additional breaks if needed to reduce stress and fatigue.
If your dog cannot stand for long periods, has pain, or requires special handling, please discuss this with me before scheduling. In some cases, I may recommend veterinary approval before grooming.
My goal is to provide a gentle, safe, and comfortable grooming experience for every dog.
FAQ- Aggressive or Difficult-to-Groom Dogs
Q: What if my dog has a history of aggression or difficulty during grooming?
A: Please be honest about your dog’s grooming history, behavior, bite history, anxiety, fear, or aggression before the appointment. This information helps me prepare and provide the safest grooming experience possible.
I am not a veterinarian and cannot prescribe, provide, or administer any medication, sedatives, tranquilizers, or sleeping medicine to your dog.
If your veterinarian recommends medication to help your dog remain calm during grooming, you must discuss this directly with your veterinarian and follow their instructions. Any medication must be prescribed and administered by the pet owner according to the veterinarian’s directions before the grooming appointment.
Common types of veterinarian-prescribed medications may include anti-anxiety medications or mild sedatives. Examples vary by pet and medical condition, so only a veterinarian can determine what is safe and appropriate.
If your dog’s behavior creates a safety risk to itself, me, or others, I may stop grooming services and recommend seeking veterinary grooming services or specialized behavioral training before future appointments.
For the safety of everyone involved, Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for aggressive, dangerous, or unmanageable dogs.
Note: Never give your dog any medication unless it has been approved by your veterinarian.
FAQ- What if my dog barks a lot during grooming?
Q: What if my dog barks loudly during grooming and I become concerned?
A: Some dogs bark during grooming because they may be excited, nervous, anxious, or unfamiliar with the grooming process. This is a normal behavior for many dogs, and I have experience working with dogs that bark during bathing and grooming.
My goal is to keep your dog safe, comfortable, and as stress-free as possible throughout the appointment. If I believe your dog is experiencing excessive stress or is unsafe to continue grooming, I may stop the service and discuss the situation with you.
If you are uncomfortable with the grooming process or choose to end services with Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming, I will treat you with respect and discuss any refund on a case-by-case basis.
The health, safety, and well-being of your dog will always be my top priority. 🐾
FAQ- Dogs Requiring Special Handling
Some dogs may require special handling during grooming, including:
• Senior dogs
• Three-legged dogs
• Blind or deaf dogs
• Dogs with severe matting
• Dogs recovering from surgery or injury
• Dogs with seizures or other medical conditions
• Very anxious, fearful, or stress-sensitive dogs
For dogs with medical conditions, recent surgery, seizures, or other health concerns, I may request approval or recommendations from your veterinarian before grooming.
The safety and well-being of your dog always come first. If I believe grooming may be unsafe for your dog, or if your dog becomes overly stressed, experiences a seizure, struggles excessively, or cannot be safely handled, I may stop grooming services immediately.
If I am unable to safely complete the grooming appointment, I will inform you and discuss possible alternatives, including veterinary grooming services if appropriate.
Thank you for understanding that your dog’s health and safety are my top priorities.
FAQ- What if my dog keeps
having bowel accidents during grooming?
FAQ – What if my dog keeps having bowel accidents during grooming?
Some dogs may have bowel accidents during grooming due to anxiety, excitement, stress, age, illness, medication, or digestive issues.
If your dog has repeated bowel accidents during the appointment, I may need to stop grooming services if I am unable to safely and reasonably complete the grooming session. In some cases, repeated bathing and cleaning can significantly delay appointments and affect other scheduled customers.
If your dog has multiple bowel accidents during grooming, I may recommend that you consult your veterinarian to rule out any medical or digestive concerns.
To help your dog have a successful grooming appointment, I recommend allowing your dog enough time to walk outside and fully relieve themselves before I arrive.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. My goal is to provide a safe, clean, and comfortable grooming experience for every dog while maintaining my appointment schedule for all customers.
FAQ- Every dog loves running through grass—but there’s one type you should
always watch out for: foxtails.
These wild grasses may look harmless, but they have sharp, barbed seeds designed to burrow into the ground… and they can do the same to your dog. Once attached, they can work their way through skin and into the body, causing serious injury, infection, and even life-threatening complications.
Foxtails most often get stuck in a dog’s nose, ears, paws, eyes, or underbelly—and long-haired dogs are especially at risk because they’re harder to spot.
🚨 Warning signs to watch for:
• Sudden, excessive sneezing
• Head shaking or pawing at ears/eyes
• Limping or licking paws
• Swelling, lumps, or discharge
If a foxtail gets embedded, it won’t break down on its own—it can keep traveling through the body and usually requires a vet to remove it safely.
They’re commonly found in fields, trails, roadsides, and even some lawns, especially when the grass is dry and brittle.
Best way to protect your dog:
Avoid areas with foxtails when possible, and always do a quick check after walks—especially between toes, around ears, and near the eyes and nose.
A quick inspection can make all the difference.
A little awareness goes a long way—so our fur kids can safely enjoy every run, sniff, and adventure the outdoors has to offer. 🐾💛
If a customer says: "My dog is only 62 lbs. Why is it $30 more?”
My reply :
“That’s a great question. Once dogs reach the 61–80 lb range, they usually take considerably longer to groom. Larger dogs require more lifting, more drying, more brushing, and more handling throughout the appointment. Our pricing is based on the extra time and physical work needed to provide a safe and thorough groom.”
FAQ – Why don’t you offer cat grooming?
Q: Why is cat grooming not available?
A: Thank you for understanding. At this time, Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming only provides grooming services for dogs.
I believe in being honest with my clients. I have not had the opportunity to complete professional cat grooming courses, and I do not hold any cat grooming certifications. Because of that, I choose not to offer cat grooming services.
The safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet are my top priorities. I only provide services that I have been professionally trained and certified to perform.
I truly love cats—they are beautiful and wonderful animals. 🐈 I hope to have the opportunity to learn cat grooming in the future, but for now, I only groom dogs.
Thank you for your understanding, support, and trust. 🐾
FAQ: Why Behavior Matters More Than Breed?
At Marco’s Paws Mobile Grooming, every dog is evaluated as an individual.
Most of the breeds we accept are commonly groomed and generally do well during the grooming process when they have been properly socialized, handled regularly, and introduced to grooming from a young age.
Some dogs may naturally be more independent, vocal, shy, or cautious around unfamiliar people. This does not mean they are aggressive or unsuitable for grooming. They may simply need a little extra time, patience, and gentle handling to feel comfortable.
We believe that behavior, temperament, and safe handling are more important than breed alone. Every dog is unique, and we strive to provide a calm, gentle, and positive grooming experience tailored to each individual dog’s needs.
For the safety of your dog and the groomer, grooming services may be paused or discontinued if a dog displays severe aggression, repeated biting attempts, extreme fear or panic, or cannot be safely groomed by a solo groomer in a mobile grooming environment.
Thank you for helping us create a safe, comfortable, and low-stress grooming experience for every dog.
